This morning I had 2 emails in my inbox from "SEO Companies" telling me that they can’t find webuildpages.com in the search engines and that I can get a Free evaluation from them to show me what needs to be done, and how their services can help me. This is nothing new, I’m know everyone gets emails like this every day.
I think this afternoon I’ll take one of the 400 sites we own and put a scrapable email on it and then when these companies email me I’ll respond with "Yes, please, tell me how you can help"….and then I’ll publish here the stupid things they recommend….hey, don’t they deservice this for spamming me?…..funny thing is, is that I’ll bet I’ll actually catch some Big Name SEO Companies writing me….you think?
Good idea?

Great idea, we’d love to see how it all plays out! I’ve thought of doing something similar with some dispensable site I own, like trying some of the SEO software described by using the longest page ever created (you know what I’m talking about).
My guess is you won’t find any big names though…
Definitely a good idea. Fockers.
Did you got an e-mail from this “company” too ?
Great idea…I’d love to see some of the bad english and other obvious mistakes, not to mention the bad advice.
I’ll bet you do get some big names. I wonder what the law is regarding posting an email sent to you online somewhere.
My saumption is all the rights are with the person who recieved the email with zero rights for the person who sent it, unless there is some sort of confidential disclaimer in the email… but I don’t know that for a fact.
It does sound like a great idea. I usualy respond by telling these people that if they ever email me again, I’ll research and then submit nasty articles about thier company to hundreds of article directories.
cristian, don’t recall that exact company…but it wouldn’t suprise me….perhaps I’ll run into them soon 😉
be sure to put a terms and conditions link on the bottom of a page stating that all emails will be published.
I’m sure they won’t read it anyway – particularly automatic scraping…
then the comedy can be shared without any potential (stupid) legal threats, methinks.
Crap! That email got to you?
Now my Brazilian boiler room operation has to look out for traps . . . dammit!
